Summary: The performance of a revised version of the OSU two-level atmospheric general circulation model is summarized in terms of the mean annual cycle and interannual variability simulated in a 39-month long integration with climatologically-prescribed sea-surface temperatures and sea ice distributions. The principal revisions in this control version of the model are changes in the parameterization of the sub-grid scale vertical redistribution of horizontal momentum, and changes in the calculation of the convective cloudiness, surface wind, snowmelt, and albedo.
