Summary: The International Radiation Symposium of 2012 (IRS 2012) was held from 6-10 August, 2012 in Berlin at the Seminaris Campus Hotel Science and Conference Center, also known as the "Dahlem Cube," located on the campus of the Free University of Berlin. The Officers and Members of the International Radiation Commission (IRC) together with the Berlin Local Organizing Committee, coordinated all activities of IRS 2012. In addition to IRC and IMAS support, the IRS 2012 was sponsored by the Free University of Berlin, the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), the Leibniz Institute for Tropospheric Research (IFT), the German Aerospace Center (DLR), the European Space Agency (ESA), the German Weather Service (DWD), and the European Organization for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT).
