Subject(s): Online resources: Abstract: This technical note describes the operation of the NCAR King Air aircraft during HAPEX, the methods of processing the data, and presents a large portion of the data from the aircraft. This Technical Note presents the flux and sounding data collected by the NCAR King Air aircraft during the Hydrologic, Atmospheric Pilot Experiment (HAPEX). The major goal of HAPEX was measuring the hydrological budget and evaporation flux at the scale of a general circulation model grid square, i.e., 10 km2 The NCAR King air aircraft was operated in support of a two and one half month intensive observing period for the purpose of making detailed measurements of atmospheric fluxes.
